Chain maintenance is one of those things that's easy to overlook until it starts costing you performance. A couple of things I'd add: after cleaning and lubing, always let the lube set for a few minutes before riding so it doesn't just fling off the first time you get moving, and try to lube right after a ride when the chain's still warm, since the links open up slightly and take the lubricant better. Also worth checking your sprockets at the same time you check tension; a chain that looks fine can still be riding on worn teeth, and that combo wears both parts out faster than either alone. Good habits here really do pay off in the long run. These habits are readily transferable to skid steer pallet forks. Checking them regularily, helps in the long run.
